The Elk Valley Economic Initiative goals are to:

•champion, support and articulate opportunities for projects and initiatives which contribute to regional economic development in the Elk Valley.

•create a network and increase communications among individuals and organizations involved in economic development in the Elk Valley.

•link to and avoid duplication with the activities of other regional economic development initiatives that influence the Elk Valley region.

In accordance with the June 2014 Strategic Planning Session, strategic initiatives for 2014-2015 were agreed as:

Broadband & Connectivity Forum held to establish current framework and business needs (Achieved October 2014)

Mobile Business Licences – processes and policies streamlined and consolidated (Process underway November 2013; If agreeable, estimated implementation January 2016)

Compile and accessible Inventory of Elk Valley land available for commercial and industrial use (ongoing 2014-2015)

Local government to gain access to Crown Land for development purposes (ongoing 2014-2015)

Think Elk Valley – create an economic identity, profile and brand
